Welcome to My Corner of the Internet
I’m an American English teacher living in South Korea, with years of experience navigating language education, curriculum development, and life abroad. This site is a simple collection of my work—writing, projects, and whatever else I decide to put here.
About Taylor
My name is Taylor - 30 years old, born in California, but raised in Charleston, South Carolina. Currently, I reside in Cheonan, South Korea. My fascination with language and culture started at a young age. I always wondered what life was like beyond my American lens. Simple things shaped my life from a young age. Picking up a Gameboy Color in 1999 and playing my first Pokemon game taught me about Japan. Experiencing September 11, 2001 in the second grade and seeing the realities of the world. It wasn't until learning French in middle and high school that I realized language was one of my biggest passions. I fully realized my interest in Asia after graduating from University. Seven years later, I am still here in South Korea, trying to make sense of the world.
For nearly 12 years, I’ve worked with children, and their curiosity and energy continue to motivate me as an adult. Teaching, at its core, is about connection, and that’s something I value beyond the classroom.
I have a wide range of interests—art, design, language, writing, psychology, networking, and culture. My first dive into programming came in the early 2000s, when I built personal fan sites and taught myself HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL, and Python. But above all, I’ve always had a knack for bringing people together. No matter where I am or who I meet, I find common ground, bridging gaps between cultures and perspectives. If there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that meaningful connections often happen in the most unexpected ways.
